- About the Brand
We are proud to be one of a select handful of stores in North America to offer professionally tanned reindeer hides. Imported directly from Lapland - the northern region of Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, and Finland), these hides are sustainably harvested from north of the Arctic Circle. Reindeer are abundant in Lapland and provide an important source of income for the indigenous Sami people. When purchasing an authentic reindeer hide from the Lapland region you contribute to the Sami economy to help create and sustain a market. Reindeer harvested by the Sami people is not only used for food, but the hide is used to make clothing and coverings and antlers are made into tools and accessories.

The KERO company has a long and solid history. Yrjö Kero founded the company in 1929 together with Karl Wälivaara and made it his life’s mission to create the thriving company that developed into the still-thriving company culture in the small village of Sattajärvi, 20 kilometres south of Pajala in Sweden Lapland’s far north.
Today the third generation of the Kero family is running the company and the fourth is already involved in the production process. Much has happened since Yrjö Kero started his small tannery in 1929.
